Values & Approach
At its best, therapy utilizes collaboration and safety, meaning the client has a right to both be a consenting recipient and an active participant within the therapeutic relationship. My role as a therapist is to act as an activist that helps make therapy political, which means more safe and equitable for all persons — of all identities. Also, I seek to serve as a guide for those I support — tackling inner and outer barriers to wellness.
Mental health services belong to all people, no matter their socioeconomic background, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or ethnicity. Everyone and anyone can benefit from being authentically seen and heard. I do not claim therapy is THE answer, but it helps us grapple with the right questions.
